Courtney B. Vance Cast as Zeus in Percy Jackson

Courtney B. Vance has been cast as Zeus in the upcoming second season of Disney+'s 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians', replacing the late Lance Reddick, who passed away earlier this year. Vance expressed excitement about joining the series, acknowledging the legacy left by Reddick and the show’s devoted fanbase. Season 2 will adapt 'The Sea of Monsters', with Percy Jackson returning to Camp Half-Blood a year later to find his world changed, including a missing Grover and a siege from the forces of Kronos. The new season is currently in production and is expected to premiere in 2025. Executive producer Dan Shotz emphasized the challenge of finding a successor to Reddick but noted Vance's commitment to honoring both the character and Reddick's portrayal. Alongside Vance, new cast members include Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace and Daniel Diemer as Tyson.
