Joshua Moser Found Dead in Lehigh County Jail

Joshua Moser, a 34-year-old man from Slatington, Pennsylvania, was found dead in his jail cell on January 11, 2025, in what authorities have ruled an apparent suicide. Moser was awaiting trial for the May 2024 murder and dismemberment of his roommate, David Hittinger, whose remains were found scattered across multiple locations in Slatington and Washington Township. Moser had reportedly admitted to killing Hittinger by strangulation and hitting him with a hammer before dismembering the body. Jail staff attempted life-saving measures but he was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a hospital. An autopsy is scheduled to confirm the cause of death, but no suspicious circumstances have been indicated by the coroner. Moser faced charges of criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence.
