The Electric State Set for 2025 Netflix Release

The first look at Netflix's upcoming sci-fi film The Electric State has been revealed, showcasing Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt in a dystopian adventure directed by the Russo Brothers. Set in a retro-futuristic 1994, the film follows Michelle, an orphaned teenager, on a quest to find her brother with the help of a mysterious robot named Herman and a drifter named Keats. The film is based on Simon Stålenhag's graphic novel and is produced under a substantial budget of $320 million. Alongside Brown and Pratt, the cast includes Anthony Mackie, Giancarlo Esposito, Stanley Tucci, and Ke Huy Quan, among others. The narrative explores themes of humanity and artificial intelligence, against a backdrop of a world recovering from a conflict with robots that sought independence. The Electric State is set to debut on Netflix in early 2025, marking a significant return to large-scale storytelling for the Russo Brothers after their Marvel tenure.
