Jarryd Hayne Joins Fiji Rugby League as Mentor

Jarryd Hayne, the former Parramatta Eels star, is making a return to rugby league as part of Fiji's coaching staff for the upcoming Pacific Championships, after his rape conviction was quashed and he was released from prison in June 2023. He will serve as a mentor, working alongside players such as Maika Sivo, Viliame Kikau, and Michael Jennings, under the guidance of Fiji's head coach, Wise Kativerata. Hayne's involvement marks his first return to the sport since his arrest in 2018, and his position has been approved by the NRL. Despite initial discussions about him playing, Hayne will not be participating as a player during the tournament.
