Chelsea Loans David Fofana to Goztepe

Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana has joined Turkish club Goztepe on a loan with an option to buy for £20 million after a move to AEK Athens collapsed due to last-minute complications. Fofana, who joined Chelsea for £8.4 million in January 2023, has had underwhelming loan spells at Union Berlin and Burnley and does not feature in Enzo Maresca’s plans at Stamford Bridge. The loan deal includes a January recall clause and aims to help Chelsea manage their oversized squad, which they have been working to trim. Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has expressed his interest in a future move to Marseille but remains committed to his current club.
