Two Men Arrested for Rape in Brighton

Two men have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a 19-year-old man in Brighton. The victim reported he was approached by two strangers near Harry Ramsden's at around 3:30 am on December 21, before being led to Steine Lane where the assault occurred. A passer-by intervened and contacted Sussex Police, who have continued to support the victim through specialist officers. The suspects, aged 40 and 42, were arrested on Boxing Day in separate locations in Surrey and Kent and remain in police custody. Detective Inspector Sean Booth stated that the arrests were due to the effective collaboration between police and the public, urging anyone with further information to come forward. The investigation is ongoing.
