Phil Vassar Survives Heart Attack and Stroke

Country music star Phil Vassar revealed he experienced a heart attack and stroke in early 2023, which led to him being declared dead twice for a total of 30 minutes. Despite leading a healthy lifestyle and not being a drinker or partier, Vassar attributed his medical crisis to genetic heart disease, which he was unaware of. The medical emergency occurred after a Christmas tour with fellow artist Deana Carter, who helped call 911 and administered CPR until help arrived. After being revived with 11 electric shocks and suffering a stroke three days later, Vassar has since made a remarkable recovery, saying he feels 'great' and has a renewed appreciation for life and music. He is back on tour, although at a slower pace, having performed 100 shows last year before his health issues arose. Vassar expressed gratitude for medicine, acknowledging that he likely would not be alive without it.
