Vienna McDonald's Fight Injures Two Officers

On Sept. 26 at about 9:20 p.m., Vienna police responded to a large fight involving high school students outside the McDonald’s at 544 Maple Ave. West in Vienna, Virginia. As officers moved in, someone in the crowd set off fireworks, injuring two officers who sustained minor injuries, were treated on scene and remained on duty. Fairfax County Police and Virginia State Police provided backup, and officers deployed a pepperball system to disperse teens who refused to leave; officials said no one was hurt by the pepperball use.
