Miley Cyrus Wanted to Adapt Mandy as Musical

Miley Cyrus revealed in a recent interview that she once wanted to remake Nicolas Cage's 2018 thriller Mandy as a musical, aiming to portray the lead character, Red Miller, in a gender-swapped version. She described the film as one of her favorites, even naming her dog after its title character, and expressed her admiration for its themes of romance and revenge. Although she reached out to the film's director, Panos Cosmatos, the remake never materialized. Instead, Cyrus is collaborating with Cosmatos on her upcoming album, which she said is inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall and aims to address cultural issues through music. She envisions the album as a glamorous concept piece with a hypnotizing spirit, intending to provide a form of cultural 'medication'. The anticipation for her new music builds following the success of her recent album, Endless Summer Vacation.
