16-Year-Old Marysville Teen Body Recovered from Feather River After Drowning

A 16-year-old boy from Marysville tragically drowned in the Feather River near the Star Bend boat ramp on July 4, 2025, after falling into a deep channel and struggling in the water. The Yuba County Sheriff's Office, along with multiple local fire and rescue agencies, conducted a search that began Friday evening and was suspended at night due to darkness. The teen's body was recovered the following afternoon in approximately 17 feet of water. Authorities emphasized the unpredictable hazards of river channels, especially with cold temperatures and strong undercurrents.
