Delhi Premier League Set to Launch in August

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced the inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL), a T20 tournament set to take place in the second half of August 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The league will feature a total of 40 matches, comprising 33 men's games and seven women's games, promoting gender inclusivity by having the top four bidders for men's franchises also secure women's teams. The franchise auction raised INR 49.65 crore, reflecting significant interest and investment in the local cricket scene. DDCA president Rohan Jaitley emphasized the league's aim to provide equal opportunities for male and female cricketers while nurturing local talent for future state and national representation.
