LAPD Shoots Armed Man at Tarzana Apartment Complex

Los Angeles police officers shot and critically wounded a man in his 40s who was reportedly armed with a knife and possibly a frying pan during a disturbance at an apartment complex on Reseda Boulevard near Erwin Street late Monday night. Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon and concerns about the suspect’s mental health. Upon arrival, officers encountered the man, who was allegedly yelling and waving the weapons, prompting them to open fire after they saw the knife. The man was transported to a hospital in critical condition. No officers or bystanders were injured, and a knife was recovered at the scene. The incident remains under investigation, and the suspect's identity has not been released.
