Veho, Rivr Launch Robot Parcel Delivery Pilot Austin

Veho, a parcel delivery service, has partnered with Zurich-based robotics startup Rivr to pilot a new last-mile delivery solution using Rivr's four-wheeled, stair-climbing robots in Austin, Texas. These robots are designed to navigate complex terrains such as stairs, gates, and uneven paths, enabling them to deliver packages directly from delivery vans to customers' doorsteps, a challenge traditional delivery bots and drones often cannot address. The pilot program involves deploying one robot for daily deliveries over a few weeks with close supervision, aiming to augment human couriers' efficiency rather than replace them, with each robot capable of handling multiple packages and providing photo confirmation via the Veho app. The partnership is significant for Rivr's U.S. debut and provides valuable operational data to improve their AI-driven robotic delivery systems, which Rivr aims to scale to one million robots.
