Woman Found Dead in West Melbourne Investigation

An investigation is underway after a woman's body was discovered alongside a roadway in West Melbourne, Florida, early Monday morning. The body was found near the intersection of Eber Boulevard and Buddy Drive, with deputies responding around 6:40 a.m. after a citizen alerted them. Homicide and Crime Scene Units are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses, while an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and the woman's identity. This case could mark the 34th homicide in Brevard County for the year. In a separate incident, a murder investigation has been launched after the body of Carmen Carrera was found in Georgia, linked to Jorge Quintero, who remains hospitalized after a confrontation with U.S. Marshals.
