Hyundai Unveils Compact Concept THREE EV at Munich Mobility Show

Hyundai Motor unveiled its Concept THREE, the first compact electric vehicle (EV) concept under its Ioniq sub-brand, at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, signaling the company's expansion into the highly competitive European compact EV market. The Concept THREE features an innovative 'Art of Steel' design with aerodynamic elements and a distinctive interior inspired by domestic furniture, including the customizable 'Bring Your Own Lifestyle' widget system. The concept is expected to transition into the production Ioniq 3, a sporty hatchback designed to fit between Hyundai's Inster and Kona Electric models, sharing the E-GMP platform and battery options with the Kia EV3. Hyundai aims to launch the Ioniq 3 in Europe by July 2026, with potential availability in Australia, where it would compete with models like the MG S5 and BYD Atto 3 at an estimated price around $50,000.
