Police Hunt Convicted Rapist David Doherty

Police in South Yorkshire are urgently searching for David Doherty, a 58-year-old convicted rapist from Doncaster, who is 'actively evading' arrest. He is wanted for two breaches of Sex Offender Notification Requirements and making threats to kill. Doherty, who was convicted of attempted rape in 2000 and rape in 2014, is required to regularly register his address, but he has recently failed to do so. Officers believe he may be in the Scawthorpe or Balby areas of Doncaster and have warned the public not to approach him but to call 999 if spotted. He is described as a white male, slim build, approximately 6ft 4ins tall, with greying light brown short hair. Authorities are appealing for information on his whereabouts and encourage anonymous tips through Crimestoppers.
