Santa Rosa Man Arrested Impersonating Police Officer Amid Pre-Trial Release

Gregg Jackson, a 40-year-old Santa Rosa man, was arrested for impersonating a law enforcement officer while on felony pre-trial release. Deputies found that Jackson had been using a vehicle equipped with red and blue emergency lights and falsely identifying himself as a bounty hunter, despite lacking the necessary licensure to operate as a Fugitive Recovery Agent. A search of his home and vehicle uncovered several items such as jackets, tactical vests labeled with police-related titles, helmets, gas masks, handcuffs, and other law enforcement gear. Jackson was charged with impersonating a peace officer and violating his pre-trial release conditions, with bail set at $56,000. Authorities suspect he may have acted as a fake fugitive recovery agent in multiple states and are seeking information from the public. The case remains under investigation.
