Jeff Tweedy Releases New Single 'Feel Free' Ahead of 'Twilight Override' Album

Jeff Tweedy, frontman of Wilco, has released "Feel Free," a new track from his upcoming triple album, Twilight Override, set for release on September 26 via dBpm Records. The song, featuring acoustic guitar and contributions from his Chicago-based collaborators and children, explores themes of personal freedom and liberation, with lyrics encouraging listeners to embrace both small and large doses of freedom in their lives. Tweedy describes the freedom in the song as the feeling he experiences while making music with friends, connecting past, present, and future. Accompanying the release is a video directed by Lance Bangs, and Tweedy has invited fans to contribute verses for an extended version of the song, to be released later on his Substack newsletter, Starship Casual. Twilight Override follows Tweedy's 2020 solo album Love Is the King and will be supported by a North American tour in October 2025, followed by European dates in early 2026. The project highlights Tweedy's poetic songwriting and collaborative spirit, blending family involvement and a community of musicians.
