Daniel Khalife Guilty of Spying for Iran

Daniel Khalife, a former British soldier, has been found guilty of spying for Iran, with a jury convicting him of multiple charges under the Official Secrets Act and Terrorism Act. Khalife, who escaped from HMP Wandsworth by clinging to a food delivery truck, was involved in passing sensitive information to Iranian agents over two years. Although he claimed to be a double agent and patriot, his activities included collecting information about UK special forces and attempting to travel to Iran via Turkey. He was acquitted of a bomb hoax charge but admitted to his prison escape. Khalife's actions were described as posing significant risks, including potentially endangering Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe's life with a fake intelligence document. He faces a lengthy prison sentence, with sentencing scheduled for December 12.
