Veteran TV Actor Joe Marinelli Dies at 68
Joe Marinelli, a veteran TV actor known for his roles on soap operas such as "Santa Barbara" and "General Hospital," as well as the Apple TV+ series "The Morning Show," has died at the age of 68 following a battle with stomach cancer. Marinelli was widely recognized for his portrayal of the cross-dressing mobster Bunny Tagliattia on "Santa Barbara," appearing in 170 episodes between 1988 and 1990, and had a lengthy career with numerous appearances on shows including "Cagney & Lacey," "Hill Street Blues," and "The West Wing." His friend Leigh J. McCloskey remembered him as a champion, great acting partner, teacher, and storyteller who revealed the human spirit with depth and laughter. Marinelli was also known for his film work, including roles in "Sideways" and "The Assassination of Richard Nixon." He is survived by his wife Jean and their sons Vincent and David. Marinelli's legacy is marked by his generous heart and dedication to his craft, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues and fans alike.
