Prince William Concludes Cape Town Visit

Prince William concluded a four-day visit to Cape Town focused on conservation and the Earthshot Prize, which recognizes innovative environmental solutions. His visit included a tour of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) in Simon's Town, where he interacted with volunteers and experienced the local rescue operations firsthand. Having a background as a Royal Air Force helicopter pilot, he expressed a strong interest in the NSRI's work and shared his own rescue experiences, stating, 'I miss this life. Any chance to get back, I'll take.' During the Earthshot Prize Awards, held in Cape Town, five climate-friendly businesses were awarded $1.2 million in grants. The visit aimed to raise awareness about various environmental issues, including illegal wildlife trade and conservation efforts in Cape Town. This event marked the fourth iteration of the Earthshot Prize, which Prince William launched in 2021.
