Gleyber Torres Activated as Tigers Face Twins

Gleyber Torres returned to the Detroit Tigers' lineup on Friday after recovering from a left oblique strain, contributing to a 7-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins with two hits and a walk. Activated from the 10-day injured list, Torres is expected to lead off and play second base, with Colt Keith designated as the DH. Throughout the early season, Torres has shown promise, going 5-for-11 with a home run since his return. In addition, the team optioned outfielder Brewer Hicklen to Triple-A to make room for Torres.
