UTRGV Vaqueros Announce 2025 Inaugural Football Season

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros football team has announced its inaugural 12-game schedule for the 2025 season, featuring seven home games. The Vaqueros will start their season on August 30, 2025, against Sul Ross State at Robert & Janet Vackar Stadium in Edinburg. Former high school coach Travis Bush will lead the team as its first head coach. The schedule includes challenging matchups, such as their first Southland Conference game against Southeastern on September 27, a significant home game against Houston Christian University on October 4, and a game against the University of the Incarnate Word at home on October 25. This historic season is highly anticipated in the Rio Grande Valley, with an emphasis on community engagement and sellout crowds.
