Major Road, Bridge Projects Expand Across Regions

Governments in Guyana, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, and Florida are undertaking major road and bridge projects to improve connectivity, safety, and access. Guyana is investing $8 billion to reconstruct 29 concrete bridges between Monkey Mountain and Karasabai, enhancing travel between Regions Eight and Nine. The Ohio Department of Transportation approved $82 million for expanding U.S. 33 to reduce rising congestion. Will County, Illinois, announced numerous 2025 transportation projects, including reconstruction, intersection improvements, and resurfacing to boost mobility and safety. In Iowa, Wapello County's five-year plan includes a new road for railroad operations and corridor efficiency. Clay County, Florida, is evaluating environmentally sensitive routes for a new road between Cheswick Oaks Avenue and Oakleaf Plantation Parkway to improve emergency response and commuter times.
