EF-1 Tornado Hits Ada, Causes Damage and Flooding

An EF-1 tornado struck Ada, Oklahoma late Saturday night, causing significant damage to businesses, homes, and local infrastructure. The Quality Inn suffered severe roof damage, leading to the evacuation of around 30 guests, while multiple stores, including Maurice's at the North Hills Shopping Center, were heavily damaged but unoccupied. The storm downed power lines, overturned vehicles, and scattered debris up to eight miles, leaving over 1,200 residents without electricity. At least five structures were confirmed damaged, with officials warning that the count could rise as assessments continue. Heavy rainfall led to widespread flooding in Ada and the surrounding area, contributing to two fatalities in Moore, though no fatalities or serious injuries were reported in Ada itself. This marks the second tornado to strike Ada in recent weeks, raising ongoing concerns about severe weather in the region.
