Maika Monroe Leads Universal’s Colleen Hoover Adaptation

Universal Pictures has officially announced that Maika Monroe will star in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, Reminders of Him, set to be released on February 13, 2026. Directed by Vanessa Caswill, the film follows Kenna Rowan, a young mother who, after serving five years in prison for a tragic mistake, returns to her hometown to reconnect with her four-year-old daughter. The screenplay, co-written by Hoover and Lauren Levine, explores themes of motherhood, forgiveness, and redemption as Kenna faces resistance from her community and forms a bond with Ledger Ward, a local bar owner. This project builds upon the momentum of Hoover's previous adaptation, It Ends With Us, and is part of multiple film projects currently in development, including another adaptation of her novel, Regretting You. The film's production will be overseen by various producers, including Hoover, Levine, and Gina Matthews. Monroe's recent success in the indie horror genre has positioned her as a leading figure in Hollywood.
