Police Report Record Arrests for DUI in December

During the festive period, Operation Limit resulted in significant arrests across various UK regions for drink and drug driving offenses. Merseyside Police reported 508 arrests, with 110 related to alcohol and 360 to drugs, emphasizing their ongoing commitment to road safety. In Lancashire, over 300 arrests were noted, a 24% increase compared to the previous year, prompting concern from authorities. Cumbria Constabulary stopped nearly 3,000 vehicles, making 206 arrests, primarily for drug driving, while achieving zero fatal road traffic collisions in December. Thames Valley Police additionally recorded 432 arrests, reflecting the widespread enforcement efforts across the country.
