EFL stadium abandoned after 2008

RFK Stadium was once home to many of the world's biggest sporting events. The arena is now waiting to be demolished after many teams moved on to new venues. The stadium was originally known as District of Columbia Stadium and was renamed after US senator and presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy after he was assassinated. The stadium cost more than $1.6 billion to build and was not fully paid off until 2006.
