Anchorage Reindeer Star VII Euthanized Amid Probe

Star VII, a beloved reindeer in Anchorage, Alaska, has died after being euthanized following a series of mysterious incidents potentially involving poisoning. The reindeer suffered from pneumonia, believed to be linked to an unknown substance sprayed on him by a masked individual who also released him from his pen in February. Despite veterinary care and initial signs of recovery, Star's health deteriorated again, leading to his euthanasia. The Anchorage Police Department is investigating but has no leads regarding the suspect. Star was the seventh reindeer to be part of a tradition in downtown Anchorage dating back to the 1960s. A necropsy is underway to determine the exact cause of death, but results will take weeks.
