Nurse Peggie Launches Second Legal Case Against NHS Fife Over Trans Row

The fresh claim follows the lifting of her suspension in March 2024 and arises from senior managers opposing that decision, a fact revealed during an ongoing employment tribunal concerning her original complaint. The new case is separate from the existing tribunal, which has already seen allegations of bullying, harassment, and patient care concerns, none of which were upheld against Peggie in a disciplinary hearing. Peggie’s solicitor confirmed that further claims against NHS Fife and its employees are forthcoming, involving issues such as the disciplinary hearing and the health board's public statements. NHS Fife has denied unlawful treatment of Peggie, but taxpayers have already incurred significant legal costs exceeding £220,000 in defending the board's decisions.
