Floyd Myers, Former Fresh Prince Actor, Dies at 42

Floyd Roger Myers Jr., a former child actor best known for portraying a young Will Smith on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and a young Marlon Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream, died Oct. 29 at his Maryland home of a heart attack at age 42. His mother, Renee Trice, said he had suffered three prior heart attacks and had spoken with her the night before his death. Myers is survived by four children; his sister, Tyree Trice, launched a GoFundMe to help cover funeral and family expenses, and relatives described him as a devoted father and loving brother. After largely stepping away from acting (his last credit was in 2000), he co-founded the Fellowship Men's Group, focused on men’s mental and emotional health, and later ran a duct-cleaning business. Fellow co-founders and friends paid tribute online and pledged to continue the organization’s mission in his honor. His death has prompted reminders about cardiovascular risks in younger adults and the importance of heart-health screening and care.
