Syrian Refugee, 16, Fatally Stabbed in Huddersfield

Ahmad Mamdouh Al Ibrahim, a 16-year-old Syrian refugee, was fatally stabbed in Huddersfield on April 3, 2025, after fleeing war-torn Homs, where he had been injured in a bombing. Ahmad had recently moved to the UK to live with his uncle and aspired to become a doctor, motivated by his desire to heal others. Alfie Franco, 20, has been charged with murder and possession of a knife in connection with the incident, which reportedly stemmed from a verbal altercation with no prior animosity between the two. Ahmad's family wishes to lay him to rest in Syria, mourning the loss of their son who had so much promise.
