Aston Martin's Valkyrie AMR-LMH has completed its initial shakedown and evaluation testing at Silverstone and Donington Park, marking its return to top-class endurance racing. The hypercar, powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12, will compete in both the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship starting in 2025. Developed in partnership with The Heart of Racing, the Valkyrie marks Aston Martin's first attempt at an outright Le Mans victory since 2011. The Valkyrie AMR-LMH is unique in the hypercar class due to its V12 engine and non-hybrid configuration, differentiating it from competitors like Ferrari, Toyota, and Porsche. The development program includes extensive testing in Europe and North America, with a full race debut expected at the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January 2025. The car's unique design features, such as a gargantuan rear wing and aerodynamic shark fin, have already made a significant impression during testing.
