Stacey Hatfield, 30, Dies After Homebirth Complication

Stacey Hatfield (also known as Stacey Warnecke), 30, a Melbourne-based nutritionist, recipe developer and wellness influencer who founded Natural Spoonfuls, died on Sept. 29 after an “extremely rare complication” that arose shortly after a home birth. She successfully delivered her first son, Axel, held and nursed him, and was transferred to hospital where doctors were unable to save her, husband Nathan Warnecke said in an Instagram post on Oct. 19. Family, friends and community members have launched a GoFundMe that had raised more than $20,000 to help cover funeral, childcare and household costs. Hatfield was remembered for promoting low‑tox, whole‑food recipes and simple, nature‑focused living and was two months shy of her first wedding anniversary.
