Musicians Unite for Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Benefit Albums
A new compilation album titled 'Los Angeles Rising' has been released to support victims of recent wildfires in Los Angeles, featuring unreleased tracks from prominent artists including Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey, and Devo. Curated by Kevin Haskins and producer Nick Launay, who both faced evacuation due to the fires, the album aims to raise funds for those affected, with all proceeds benefiting the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. The collection includes notable tracks like Cave's 'Michelangelo' and an acoustic cover of 'California Dreamin'' by Jarvis Cocker. Another benefit album, 'Good Music to Lift Up Los Angeles,' will also be available for a limited time, featuring contributions from artists such as R.E.M. and Death Cab for Cutie, with proceeds going to the California Community Foundation's Wildfire Recovery Fund. Both projects highlight the music community's solidarity in response to the devastation caused by the wildfires. The efforts reflect a shared commitment to provide aid while utilizing the healing power of music.
