Anthropic Raises $13B, Valued at $183B Amid AI Competition

Anthropic, a leading AI startup and competitor to OpenAI, announced a $13 billion Series F funding round that values the company at $183 billion, making it the world's fourth-most valuable startup. The funding round was led by ICONIQ, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from major investors including the Qatar Investment Authority, BlackRock, and Goldman Sachs Alternatives. Since the start of 2025, Anthropic's run-rate revenue has surged from about $1 billion to over $5 billion, fueled in part by strong demand for its product Claude Code, which alone generates over $500 million in run-rate revenue. The company now serves more than 300,000 business customers, with a sevenfold increase in large accounts contributing significant revenue. Anthropic plans to use the fresh capital to meet growing enterprise demand, expand internationally, and deepen its safety research and alignment efforts.
