Canada is significantly enhancing its military support for Ukraine with a new aid package that includes $389 million for training Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 fighter jets. Defense Minister Bill Blair announced the arrival of Ukrainian pilots in Canada as part of the Fighter Lead-In Training (FLIT) program, aiming to equip them with essential skills. In addition to training, Canada will provide 80,840 CRV-7 rocket motors, 1,300 warheads, surplus C6 machine guns, and chassis from decommissioned armored vehicles, further strengthening Ukraine's military capabilities. The initiative also includes the delivery of 10 ambulances and additional troop/cargo vehicles over the next two years. Since the onset of Russia's invasion, Canada's military aid to Ukraine has reached $4.5 billion, underscoring its unwavering support for Ukrainian sovereignty. Blair emphasized the importance of this support for global security, stating that what happens in Ukraine will influence broader geopolitical dynamics.
