Daniel Ricciardo Plans Auction of Rare Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar

Daniel Ricciardo, the current Formula 1 driver known for his time with Red Bull and McLaren, is auctioning his 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie, a hypercar designed by legendary F1 engineer Adrian Newey. The Valkyrie, a 1000-horsepower hybrid with a 6.5-liter V12 engine, is one of only 150 coupes made, and Ricciardo's model features bespoke options including a unique “Badger Blue” paint and lightweight magnesium wheels. Despite costing Ricciardo over $3.5 million including taxes and options, the car has been driven only about 100 miles and is expected to fetch between €2.4 million and €2.8 million at auction in Belgium, potentially resulting in a financial loss. Ricciardo purchased the car during his Red Bull tenure and has maintained it meticulously with a comprehensive service plan valid through 2027 that will transfer to the new owner. The auction highlights the car's rarity, its connection to F1 technology, and Ricciardo's personal involvement in its customization, making it a highly coveted collector's item.
