San Bernardino Firefighters Rescue Young Girl from Burning Home

Firefighters in San Bernardino County successfully rescued a young girl with access and functional needs from a burning home on February 3. The crew arrived within six minutes to find the single-story residence engulfed in flames and smoke, quickly shifting their focus from fire suppression to search and rescue after being informed that the child was trapped inside. They located her in a bedroom, where a closed door had helped protect her from the flames and smoke, and passed her through a window to safety. The girl was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition, alongside the family's rescued dog. Fire officials emphasized the importance of keeping bedroom doors closed during a fire, which played a crucial role in her survival. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
