Husband Arrested on Michigan Warrant After Wife's Death in Chicago

Adam Beckerink, husband of Caitlin Tracey who was found dead in a stairwell of his South Loop condo in October 2024, was arrested on a warrant from Berrien County, Michigan, for aggravated assault. The warrant is based on domestic violence charges unrelated to Tracey's death, which remains unsolved as the cause has not been determined. Tracey had previously accused Beckerink of abuse, obtaining and later withdrawing a protection order against him after he threatened legal action. The couple had been married for six months, and Beckerink had previously been arrested for domestic violence against Tracey in Michigan. A legal battle over the custody of Tracey's remains ensued between her parents and Beckerink, with her parents ultimately being allowed to take her remains for burial. Beckerink is set to appear in court to address the assault charges.
