Wyatt Hendrickson from Oklahoma State University has been awarded the prestigious Dan Hodge Trophy as the top college wrestler of 2025, following a remarkable season highlighted by a dramatic upset victory over Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson. Hendrickson, who transferred from the Air Force, achieved an undefeated 27-0 record, earning him the Big 12 Wrestler of the Year title. His decisive win against Steveson in the NCAA Championships, ending Steveson's 70-match winning streak, was pivotal in his Hodge Trophy victory. Despite strong competition from Penn State's Carter Starocci and Mitchell Mesenbrink, Hendrickson's historic finals victory secured him the award, which he won narrowly by four first-place votes. Hendrickson's achievement marks him as Oklahoma State's third Hodge Trophy winner, and his success was supported by first-year coach David Taylor, a former Hodge Trophy winner himself.
