Milwaukee Authorities Seek Missing Sailor, Boat Following Coast Guard Search Suspension

Charles W. Brown, a 55-year-old experienced boater from Milwaukee, has been missing since August 21, after last being seen on surveillance footage walking towards his red and white Bristol B32 sailboat named "Rossa" at McKinley Marina. His sailboat, registered as WS1746GL, has also been missing since that day, prompting an urgent search by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, which is asking the public for any information. The U.S. Coast Guard conducted a search using helicopters and boats but suspended operations on August 24. Despite the suspension, Brown's family continues the search with assistance from a Maine-based volunteer search and rescue nonprofit utilizing advanced tools like drones and thermal imaging. Brown's niece emphasized that it was unusual for him not to notify family before a longer trip, underlining the concern for his safety.
