Zoologist Adam Britton jailed

Adam Robert Corden Britton, a former crocodile expert, has been sentenced to 10 years and five months in prison for the sexual abuse and torture of over 42 dogs, resulting in the deaths of 39 animals. The Northern Territory Supreme Court heard that Britton recorded his atrocities, which included acts of bestiality, and shared the footage online. Chief Justice Michael Grant condemned Britton’s actions as 'grotesque cruelty' and stated that his depravity exceeded normal human comprehension. Britton's defense argued against a lifetime ban on animal ownership, claiming it was excessive, but the court imposed the ban alongside a non-parole period of six years. His crimes were uncovered following a tip-off linked to one of his videos, leading to his arrest in April 2022. Britton, who has a PhD in zoology, expressed regret and attributed his behavior to a psychiatric condition known as paraphilia.
