Padres defeat Rockies 2-0, extend home win streak
The Colorado Rockies continued to struggle offensively, suffering a 2-0 loss to the San Diego Padres, marking their second consecutive shutout in the series. Despite pitcher Chase Dollander's commendable performance, where he allowed only two runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings, the Rockies managed just four hits in the game. San Diego's Kyle Hart also excelled, pitching six scoreless innings and leading the team to its fifth shutout of the season. The Padres' offense was bolstered by solo home runs from Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jason Heyward. The Rockies now hold the worst offensive record in the majors, having scored only 40 runs in their first 14 games. Manager Bud Black emphasized the need for the team's offense to improve, as they have scored two or fewer runs in nine of their games this season.
