Woman's Body Found in Werrington Bushland
A woman's body, believed to be that of a middle-aged female, was discovered by a passer-by in isolated bushland near Irwin Street, Werrington, Sydney's west, on Sunday afternoon. Detectives from the Nepean Police Area Command, assisted by the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad and forensic specialists, established a crime scene and canvassed the area with help from PolAir. Items including clothing and rubbish were found near the body, which is thought to have been at the location for some time. The woman does not match any immediately obvious missing persons, and the Missing Persons Unit is aiding identification efforts. A post mortem is expected to be conducted this week to determine the cause of death. Police continue to urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
