The inaugural United Sounds NYC festival will take place on October 25-26 at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, featuring a lineup that includes Blonde Redhead, The Dismemberment Plan, Les Savy Fav, and Sunflower Bean. Co-founded by Diane Perini, who previously organized Coney Island's Siren Music Festival, the event aims to fill the void left by the now-defunct CMJ and promote independent music. Tickets are priced at $50 for single-day access and $75 for a two-day pass, with sales beginning on September 6. Perini expressed excitement about the festival's location in Red Hook, which she describes as having a welcoming seaside vibe while still being close to Manhattan. The Dismemberment Plan will be performing their first shows since 2014 during this festival, marking a significant return for the band. Festival organizers are also looking forward to expanding United Sounds into a larger series of events in the future.
