Poll Shows Majority Support for Trump Plans
A Pew Research Center survey indicates that 53% of Americans approve of President-elect Donald Trump's plans for his second term, while 46% disapprove, reflecting significant partisan divides. The approval rate is notably higher among Republicans (88%) compared to Democrats (82% disapproval). Americans expressed the most confidence in Trump's handling of economic policy (59%), law enforcement (54%), immigration (53%), and foreign policy (53%), but only 45% are confident in his approach to abortion. Additionally, 41% believe Trump can unify the country, while 59% have little to no confidence in this regard. Despite positive sentiments, a majority (66%) feel he has not effectively reached out to supporters of his opponent, Vice President Harris. The survey, conducted with over 9,600 adults, suggests an increase in overall satisfaction with the direction of the country post-election, rising from 23% to 29%.
