Eastar Jet Investigates Flight Attendants for Wing Photos

Eastar Jet flight attendants are under investigation after being photographed on the wing of a parked aircraft at Cheongju International Airport during an unofficial training session on February 12, 2025. The crew was conducting an informal emergency evacuation training due to flight delays caused by heavy snowfall when they opened the overwing emergency exit and took personal photos. While Eastar Jet acknowledged that the training was unofficial and the photo-taking was inappropriate, the Korean Airports Corporation (KAC) stated that it had not been informed of the session beforehand, as photography in the aircraft parking area requires prior approval. The incident raises concerns due to the airport's dual use as a military facility, where photography is strictly prohibited. Eastar Jet is facing scrutiny, including a written warning from KAC, as they investigate the actions of their crew members. Potential penalties for unauthorized photography at military facilities can include significant fines or imprisonment.
