European Authorities Dismantle Major Illegal IPTV Network

European law enforcement, with support from Europol and Eurojust, dismantled a major illegal IPTV streaming network impacting over 22 million users. This extensive operation resulted in the identification of 102 suspects and the arrest of 11 individuals engaged in distributing unauthorized copyrighted material, including over 2,500 television channels and premium sports broadcasts. Authorities seized approximately EUR 1.6 million in cryptocurrency and EUR 40,000 in cash, alongside various illegal devices, drugs, and weapons. The network, generating an estimated EUR 250 million monthly, operated through complex methods to evade detection, such as using encrypted communication and false identities. The investigation revealed potential links to other crimes, including money laundering and cybercrime. This operation marks one of the most significant actions against audiovisual piracy in Europe, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat illegal streaming.
