Gas Prices Drop Across Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia
Gas prices have dropped across several regions: in the Harrisburg area the average fell to $3.17 per gallon (down 5.6¢ week-over-week) while the national gasoline average sits near $3.08 and diesel at about $3.652 per gallon, according to GasBuddy (with weekly declines driven largely by the seasonal switch to cheaper winter gasoline). Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy says seasonal factors — plus monitoring for tropical disruptions — are the primary drivers of recent relief. In Michigan, AAA reports the state average fell to $3.03 (down 14¢ week-over-week and about 35¢ from last month), with Jackson and Traverse City at roughly $2.89 and higher prices in Ann Arbor and metro Detroit. AAA’s Adrienne Woodland and EIA data note demand has edged up even as total domestic gasoline inventories slipped slightly and West Texas Intermediate oil trades in the mid-$60s per barrel. Washington state remains among the most expensive ($4.598 per gallon) but could see fall relief as refineries switch to winter-blend gasoline, temporary pipeline issues ease, and global crude supplies rise, De Haan said.
